VinylScape

Terms of Service

Last updated June 2026. VinylScape is a personal project operated by Carlos Rego (NullMind), based in Portugal (EU/GDPR).

These terms are the agreement between you and VinylScape. They are kept short and readable on purpose. Please read them before creating an account.

Acceptance

By creating an account or using VinylScape, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. VinylScape is operated by Carlos Rego (NullMind).

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use VinylScape, and you must be able to enter into a binding agreement. By using the service you confirm that you meet these requirements.

What VinylScape is

VinylScape is a personal dashboard that links your Discogs collection and Last.fm listening history so you can see what you own and what you actually play. It is provided as a free, best-effort hobby project, with no guarantee of availability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose.

A free service

VinylScape is free to use. There are no fees, subscriptions, or paid tiers, and we do not ask for payment details. If that ever changes, it will be announced clearly in advance and will never apply retroactively to data you already hold.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. Use a real email so account recovery and important notices can reach you. You must have the right to connect any Discogs or Last.fm account you link, and you must not impersonate anyone else.

Third-party services

VinylScape relies on the Discogs and Last.fm APIs and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by either. Your use of those services is governed by their terms. We are not responsible for the accuracy of data they provide (including marketplace prices and valuations, which are estimates) or for outages, rate limits, or changes on their side.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' data; do not place automated load on it beyond normal personal use; and do not use it to violate any law or the terms of Discogs or Last.fm. We may suspend or remove accounts that do.

Intellectual property

The VinylScape name, design, and code belong to the operator. Album titles, artist names, and cover images shown in the app belong to their respective rights holders and are displayed for identification and personal reference only, sourced from Discogs and Last.fm. Nothing here transfers any rights in that material to you or to VinylScape.

Your content and public profiles

Your collection and listening data remain yours. By making your profile public you grant VinylScape permission to display that data on your public profile and in the compare feature for as long as the setting is enabled. Turning the profile private, or deleting your account, withdraws that permission.

Data and deletion

How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and its data at any time from Settings.

Availability and changes to the service

This is a hobby project. Features may be added, changed, or removed, and the service may be unavailable for maintenance or other reasons, without notice. We do our best to avoid data loss but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, VinylScape, including any reliance on prices, valuations, or statistics shown, or any loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnity

You agree to be responsible for your own use of the service and for any claim arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of third-party services through VinylScape.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or put the service or other users at risk. On termination, the relevant data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

Severability and entire agreement

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and VinylScape regarding the service.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated; the "last updated" date will reflect changes, and continued use means acceptance. Where changes are material, you will be notified in-app where appropriate.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal and applicable EU law, and disputes are subject to the competent courts of Portugal, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
